孟子言人性本善，荀子则言性恶。性善论者谓：人之初，性本善。性相近习相远。苟不教，性乃迁。性恶论者则曰：人之性恶，其善者伪也。

二者何善，然皆有理。争至今，无定论者也，何以辨乎！性善哉，性恶焉！及吾所思，则和二者之言皆有得，无鄙薄之意，仅为考之。或曰性本空者，然也非吾所指。其善其恶，皆生而有之；善之为善根，恶之为恶念。善根深种，故闻善理而通明。恶念深藏，故欲念之所致也速。夫无善根则不为人，无恶念也不为人矣！教之则从善如流，不教则远之，几有为恶人怂之。事故善人之子，非生而善之，若恶念生之，或为恶人所惑，则恶之。恶人之子，非生而恶之，若善根发之，或为德者劝诱，则善之。既为善者，若非时时自醒，时之怠之，则恶之亦不远矣。既为恶人，若可悔悟自醒，时之励之，则善之亦不远矣。

故吾之所谓：人之性，非空。善有之，恶亦有之。此为人之生性，自然之法，非修行所能蔽除。不修则自然怠之，修则遏之，如斯而已。性善性恶本在五五之数，视汝之何为也！[玄幻小说网://.xhxsw.]
